Classic Yellow Gold

Pure gold is 24 carats, but it is very soft and therefore unsuitable for jewelry and watch cases. The addition of silver, cadmium, and zinc increases the hardness and durability of gold. At Wempe, we use only 18-karat gold alloys - also known as 750 gold because of its 75% gold content. The intense color of a classic yellow gold piece of jewelry is obtained by adding 12.5% copper and 12.5% silver respectively to Wempe's 18-carat gold.
